Ice Caves

The Ice Caves in Werfen are the worlds largest ice cave with 30.000 m2 ground ice.
Good foot wear and warm clothes highly recommended! Leaving Werfen and driving up the mountain by car or tourist bus, parking the car, and walking 15 minutes to reach the gondola, this will bring you up (120%) to the Dr.-Friedrich-Oedl-Haus (restaurant and ticket office), height 1.575 m. Now continue walking up towards the cave entrance for another 20 minutes. There you'll be handed over a lantern by a guide who takes you up and down paths and steps along fantastic ice objects. The temperature inside the cave is apr. 0' C, and SORRY, but it's forbidden to take pictures! Ice Caves Website, in English and German: http://www.eisriesenwelt.at/
